Tuning In

TUNING IN
WHO WE ARE

Feeling Charades
How do we communicate our thoughts and feelings with others?

The G2s played the FEELINGS CHARADE by acting out different emotions without words, and others guessed the feeling. This Tuning In activity helped them see how people communicate in different ways.

Encourages self-expression and self-confidence.

This helps strengthen communication skills  as they learn that communication isn’t only about words—gestures and facial expression also matter.

After the activity, they reflected on the following prompts:

How  does not talking make you feel? Comfortable? Uncomfortable?

In this activity, what worked? What did not work? Why?

SInce you cannot speak, how did you communicate? What was challenging?

Their take-away in this activity were:

1. It is difficult to understand people if the face and feelings don't match.
2. It is always challenging to figure out what other people are thinking and doing especially if you don't say anything.
3. Always expect the best outcome to what others are doing.
4. Teamwork sometimes does not work

But what exactly is this unit focusing on?
To have a guidance on where the unit is heading, the students unscrambled our central idea.

They worked together to connect the words and came up with a sentence that makes sense.

'We build relationships by learning about other peoples thoughts, feelings, and communicating our own'

Then they started writing down questions related to the idea.

As we have  previously defined the word RELATIONSHIP, they also looked as picture prompts and brainstormed ideas using, SEE, THINK, and WONDER chart.

SEE 👀
What do you see? What is happening in the picture?”
Students describe only what they notice

THINK 💭
“What do you think is going on? How might the people feel?”
Students begin to interpret body language, actions, and emotions.

WONDER 🌟
“What do you wonder about this picture?

What questions do you have?”
Students share curiosity
